Keynote Speaker: Chris Harris Jr., Denver Broncos Corner Back

As a student at Bixby High School, Harris earned all-state honors in both football and basketball, while also earning varsity letters in track. His passion and talent in football led him to a decorated career at the University of Kansas.

While attending college and playing football at KU, Harris had one of the most successful football careers in school history. He served as team captain his senior year and led the team to an Orange Bowl victory. By the end of his college career, Harris was second on the Kansas all-time tackles list.

Despite his success at Kansas, Harris went undrafted. He signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos before training camp in 2011. Because of his never quit work ethic, Harris earned a roster spot and had an immediate impact, earning Denver’s breakout player and overachiever of the year awards. Over the next few seasons, Harris developed into one of the best defensive backs in the NFL. During the 2014 season, Harris didn’t allow a touchdown and earned second-team All Pro and Pro Bowl honors.

Harris had 58 tackles and two interceptions during the 2015 regular season, and despite battling a shoulder injury during the playoffs, helped lead the Broncos to a Super Bowl title with a win over Carolina.

In 2012, Harris married his college sweetheart Leah, and together they have two daughters, Aria and Avianna. In 2013, Chris and Leah launched the Chris Harris Jr. Foundation. Inspired by his own experiences, the foundation seeks out underdogs and helps give them opportunities and resources to rise above obstacles to achieve greatness.

The Chris Harris Jr. Foundation conducts annual camps and is involved with numerous local organizations. As a result of his community outreach, Harris received the 2015 Iba Award, given by the Rotary Club of Tulsa to influential male and female athletes for their success in their sport and for being positive role models who give back to their communities.
